They were built well and it shows.Helios 3D 7-Weight, 9-Foot Fly Rods are designed for exceptional accuracy but with enhanced power. The H3s are light and swing weight is low. I can put so little effort into this rod and can shoot tight loops as far as is necessary. But the Tip flex or D version still feels great to me. Its flex profile allows for bend into the mid section of the rod giving it more life. I can make very subtle presentations with the D version, but I haven't compared it to the F in the same weight.Ī lot of people prefer the F version because of the amount of feel you get with it. My H2 covert broke and it was upgraded through the repair. Though in truth, I have the H3D in a 5 wt as well. I think you would benefit from the upgrade.ĭ version if you want distance and power.
